{"id":170,"date":"2008-11-03T11:15:19","date_gmt":"2008-11-03T19:15:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.outflux.net\/blog\/?p=170"},"modified":"2008-11-03T13:17:11","modified_gmt":"2008-11-03T21:17:11","slug":"days-since-last-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/outflux.net\/blog\/archives\/2008\/11\/03\/days-since-last-incident\/","title":{"rendered":"days since last incident&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If I made one of those <a href=\"http:\/\/www.magnatag.com\/img\/pages\/SWEimages\/SWEcover.jpg\">work-site signs<\/a> that tracked &#8220;Days since last incident&#8221;, and made one for &#8220;Days since last in-the-wild remote-root worm&#8221; for Windows and Linux, what would they each say?  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.f-secure.com\/weblog\/archives\/00001526.html\">0<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.networkworld.com\/news\/2008\/103008-morris-worm.html\">7304<\/a> respectively?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> while the post was tongue-in-cheek (everyone suffers when any large subset of computers is being attacked), I should lower the Linux days count to <strong>2783<\/strong> (for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.symantec.com\/security_response\/writeup.jsp?docid=2001-032311-2042-99\">L10n<\/a> on March 23, 2001, which is slightly newer than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciac.org\/ciac\/bulletins\/l-040.shtml\">Ramen<\/a> on January 17, 2001).
