{"id":861,"date":"2015-07-27T15:08:54","date_gmt":"2015-07-27T23:08:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/outflux.net\/blog\/?p=861"},"modified":"2015-11-08T09:00:50","modified_gmt":"2015-11-08T17:00:50","slug":"3d-printing-poe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/outflux.net\/blog\/archives\/2015\/07\/27\/3d-printing-poe\/","title":{"rendered":"3D printing Poe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I helped print this statue of Edgar Allan Poe, through &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wethebuilders.com\/projects\/6\" title=\"We the Builders\">We the Builders<\/a>&#8220;, who coordinate large-scale crowd-sourced 3D print jobs:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/illustrations\/2015\/poe-face.jpg\" alt=\"Poe's Face\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can see one of my parts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/schmarty\/19997080192\/in\/album-72157656325652972\" title=\"Hair construction\">here<\/a> on top, with &#8220;-Kees&#8221; on the piece with the funky hair strand:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/illustrations\/2015\/poe-hair.jpg\" alt=\"Poe's Hair\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The MakerWare I run on Ubuntu works well. I wish they were correctly signing their repositories.
