DefCon 11 Photos

DefCon 11 was held once again at the Alexis Park. The ATMs stayed working until almost Saturday night; I was impressed.

Hackers at the gate, in the pool, and out of the pool.

The Ghetto Hacker's Capture the Flag (info) central networking rack/hut during setup and during the game.

At one point, Channel 8 stopped to interview the Ghetto Hackers, and then later some other dude.

CTF scores around mid-day on Saturday, with Immunix in the lead. Immunix's 3 green glowing dots (and "Ninja" status) is the ratio of services we had taken over on other teams (many) vs the number of services people had broken into on us (none). Immunix team hard at work. C/Net got a good picture of the Immunix folks (with my laptop in the foreground).

A wireless sniffer, disguised as a UPS.

The Vendor area, and one of the scantily clad sales force. (Here she is again.)

The Wall of ShameSheep kept track of people silly enough to not use strong encryption on their network connections. These folks watched the wireless network and recorded clear-text passwords.

Waiting for the awards ceremony to start, with Immunix in the foreground. We got to see the TechTV dude, and Kevin Mitnick.

The writing on the T-shirt I got, which says "Gentle Hacker".
